Buffy is not alone battling the evils, because a Watcher is there to advise and train her. Also, Buffy is surrounded by her faithful friends who call themselves the Scooby Gang.

Buffy Tv series reached up to four to six million viewers on its original airings. Even though its millions of viewers are regarded to be lower than other shows if its on the “big four” networks known as ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox. Still, on the new and smaller WB Television Network, Buffy was a very huge success. The Television series got quite a few positive reviews and has been in the many “best of” list like being hailed as #2 on Empire's 50 Greatest Tv Shows of All Time and #41 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest Tv Shows of All Time. Buffy also won 3 Emmys and a few nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

In the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode guide, there are seven seasons with 144 episodes altogether plus the unaired Buffy pilot episode. Seasons one up to five were shown on the WB, and then it was transferred to the UPN for seasons six and seven. What's more, there is in fact a season eight of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in a comic book form.
