Solar Power House - Why You are Missing Out if You are Still Not Using Thin Film Solar Panels
If you want to build a solar power house, you will want the best power for a reasonable price. Although at one time it was costly to build a sun power solar house, today with new advancements in technology it is becoming less costly and very effective. A great new addition to the solar power for homes market has been the thin film solar panels, making it extremely easy to get solar energy for less money.
These new thin film pv solar panels now being used in solar power for home, are actually thin layers in stacks that are almost paper thin. This new technology can be seen in calculators that are solar powered and the thin film they use. Instead of being baked the way traditional panels are, the thin film solar panels are made on unique rolling machines much like a printing press.
Using these new thin flexible solar cells has many pros for solar power homes. The panels are light and they are easy to use on various types of materials. Silicon is used in wafer cells, but for these new thin cells, either copper indium gallium diselenide or cadmium telluride is placed between each thin layer. These thin home solar panels are also not made in the same way. Large presses are use to make them similar to printing presses using aluminum foil, which is a cost effective process.
Solar panels made of thin film designed for a solar power house have been featured by CNN and even given the distinction of the "Invention of the Year" by Time Magazine. The advantages of thin film panels definitely make them a worthy invention to be given this title. You'll also find solar power is now just as cheap as other forms of energy, and these flexible solar panels are definitely a progress that will change the way we think of solar energy.
